If I Were a Rich Girl...

                                                                       🤑🤑🤑🤑

I sometimes wonder what I would do if I had a lot of money. The kind of money that buys you an island or a small country. What would I do, after I had bought several houses, vehicles and holiday (assuming the pandemic is over)??

I suspect I would be overwhelmed, rather than happy. It would be amazing at first, but the novelty of it would wear off pretty quick. Even though I complain about my everyday life, I would miss my daily challenges. Well, some of them...

It would be far too boring if I could buy anything. When a treat becomes part of the routine, it loses its charm a little. Have you seen any of the reality TV shows? "Made in Chelsea" must be the notorious one for eating out. It makes me want to scream, "Not again!!"

Another impediment is that I am not good at flaunting. I would be a very guilt-stricken rich woman.
Each shopping trip would definitely end with paying for some random person's lunch or an item of clothing.

Let's talk about the advantages. Gaining more freedom would be by far the greatest advantage. Not being tied to a full-time job would simply be life-changing.

Treating family and friends would also feel pretty good. I love bringing people together, something I am currently denied (for a very good reason). If I had loads of money, I would throw regular parties and cheer people up. The lockdown situation is definitely letting the urge build up.

As with everything at the moment, I'm having to apply the COVID-19 filter on this illusive thought. That kind of money could make a significant difference to the research, for instance. I wish the rich people of today will do the right thing.

Often what we chase does not turn out to be what we had imagined. Mental reminder set to read this again when I'm sitting by the pool, eating avocado on toast and sipping green juice. Till then, I'm having to carry on as normal - the new normal.
